Every Child Deserves a Helping Hand

Fostering Hope supports children, pre-teens, teens, and young adults affected by foster care throughout Northeast Ohio. These young individuals face challenges, fears, and feelings of isolation due to fractured family environments, through no fault of their own. We provide enriching experiences to help improve their childhood.

Our Programs

Our programs are designed to support the healing process for youth in residential treatment and foster care, by creating a nurturing environment where they can find hope for the future.

What is Trauma-Informed Care?

While we do not provide counseling or mentorship, all of our programming is trauma-informed to address the sensitive nature of these situations. Trauma-informed programming refers to the design of activities that are sensitive to the effects of trauma on individuals. This approach acknowledges the widespread impact of trauma and seeks to create environments and experiences that promote safety, empowerment, and healing.

  • Ensuring that people feel protected and supported in a physical and emotional environment free from harm

  • Building and maintaining trust with service recipients, staff, and stakeholders by making operations and decisions transparently.

  • Working together and sharing power to break down power dynamics and promote equality

  • Restoring control whenever possible by asking fewer questions and listening to more stories.
