Opening Joy
In a survey of youth aging out of foster care, we discovered that an alarmingly high number of them had never experienced a birthday party. That’s why we designed a program to provide a "party in a box" that includes party decorations, desserts, and more to make their day special. We also fulfill birthday wishes with gifts chosen by the child that are wrapped and delivered with a birthday message.
Birthday In a Box
Through our partnerships with children's services, every child in foster care who lives in Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Trumbull Counties receives a box in the mail on their birthday. These boxes celebrate the day of a child’s birth and lets them know their birthday is special. In addition, we work with agency partners to fulfill birthday gift wish lists so that each child receives something they want for their birthday.
Birthday Wish List
Fostering Hope partners with area foster care agencies to fulfill birthday wishes from the children they serve. Items are purchased, wrapped, and delivered in time for their special celebration. We want them to know the day they were born is special.
